Print photo media and resizing
We use high-quality photo paper media for our prints and more information on the media finish types is present below. Glossy photo paper has high gloss, Luster has a slight gloss, while Matte does not have any gloss. A sample book of the these media types has been provided to the school and you may ask them to learn about the photo paper media prior to placing the order.
We use high-quality media from Canon and Epson that is at least 10.4 mil thick and 250 gsm.
Glossy Photo Paper
High gloss finish
These are high-gloss, bright white media that is at least 10.4 mil in thickness and 250 gsm. A glossy finish is great for showing off rich colors and awesome skin tones, but glossy paper is textureless; and because of the glossy paper’s high-shine surface, it is susceptible to the fingerprints. These papers are instant dry, abrasion resistant, water resistant and produce outstanding image quality with vibrant colors, intense blacks, sharp contours, and smooth tonal gradations.
Matte Photo Paper
No gloss
Luster photo paper has slight gloss finish and is at least 10.4 mil in thickness and 250 gsm. Luster finish paper is the perfect marriage of glossy and matte papers, taking all the good points from each. The rich color and skin tones of glossy, and the subtle texturing and fingerprint resistance of a matte finish. And luster finish paper looks great in photo albums or framed and up on a wall.
More often than not, if you are thinking Matte, you are instead thinking Luster!
Luster Photo Paper
Slight Gloss finish
Matte photo paper has no gloss and is at least 10.4 mil in thickness and 250 gsm. Matte paper has a really lovely smooth finish, is non-glare, it doesn’t have glossy finish shine, and it won’t show fingerprints. The colors don’t “pop” in a matte finish as much as they do on glossy paper, meaning your colors and tones can look particularly soft and muted. Canon and epson media used.

Adjusting photo sizes while printing
The digital proofs in the album are generally in 8×10 aspect ratio. The photo frame will be adjusted prior to printing on sizes of client’s choice (4×6, 5×7, wallets or otherwise) to match the aspect ratio of their selection. For this reason, the print photo may be a subset of the photo frame of the digital photo.
